I often incorporate social justice issues and stories of people working for social change into my filmmaking and photography work. In the past, several non-profit organizations have been able to use my work to tell their stories to their members and to the outside world. For years, I have aspired to expand the overlap between my work and the work of community-based organizations, and very soon there will be an organization devoted to that aspiration.
Together with Thomas Bacon and Lucas Schaefer, I am in the process of forming Live Oak Collective, which is devoted to partnering with social justice groups on photography and film projects that correlate with their missions.
If you work for an organization that would be interested in partnering with us, or if you are interested in supporting our project or seeing how you can become involved, please contact me. We will post updates on the status of this project as it progresses.
